I figure almost a year is a good enough amount of time to wait to update a journal, so here we go!
A lot has happened since my last update, so this is going to read a little awkward if you were to read my journals chronologically.
Since I've been discovering and changing my art style, as well as my method for drawing and coloring altogether, I have made some breakthroughs. I'm very happy with my current method for drawing and coloring at the moment, so I'm continuing to expand my skill with that. I'm using the Marker tool in Paint tool SAI a lot for coloring and it's working out great! I'm using a lot of what I learned from my art classes now, which is just common sense that I knew before I took them, but I never found how to apply them correctly.
As I'm writing this, I'm currently working on something that will provide a small test to how I perceive color and how I shape it. It will be one of my harder coloring pieces yet, but I'm past half way done and already (or rather still) pleased with it
So look forward to that! If this is successful I will be doing another piece from a similar game.
My only real concern was that I wasn't really making an original piece. I've been pondering that thought recently, while I still discredit it as a worry and continue drawing, it still crosses my mind every now and again.
My ability to observe and recreate is really my strong suit, so I'm going to press on with what I have planned and continue impressing people
